G\u00e9ographiquement, c&rsquo;est tellement vari\u00e9, que cela ressemble \u00e0 un mini-continent. Le climat varie de tropical \u00e0 sub-arctique. Les paysages sont tr\u00e9s diversifi\u00e9s allant des champs de lave solidifi\u00e9e, des vall\u00e9es coti\u00e8res, des falaises tombant \u00e0 pic dans la mer, des d\u00e9serts et des for\u00eats tropicales.<br \/>G\u00e9ologiquement, c&rsquo;est la plus jeune des iles d&rsquo;Hawaii et qui continue de grandir avec le volcan Kilauea, le volcan le plus actif sur terre, qui a agrandit l&rsquo;ile de 250 hectares depuis le d\u00e9but de la derni\u00e8re s\u00e9rie d&rsquo;\u00e9ruptions volcaniques en 1983.<br \/>La \u00ab\u00a0grande ile\u00a0\u00bb abrite la plus haute montagne de Hawaii, qui culmine \u00e0 4200 m\u00eatres d&rsquo;altitude. Les montagnes forment une gigantesque barri\u00e8re qui bloque les vents du nord-est et fait la c\u00f4te sous le vent une des plus sec de la r\u00e9gion. La c\u00f4te est r\u00e9colte les pluies et la r\u00e9gion est recouverte de for\u00eat tropicale luxuriante.<br \/>L&rsquo;attraction principale de Hawaii est bien s\u00fbr le Parc National des Volcans qui abrite des ph\u00e9nom\u00e8nes volcaniques incroyables. Une route fait le tour du crat\u00e8re principal. Une autre descend jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 la mer parmi les champs de lave plus ou moins anciens.
